I’m Sarah Taylor. I’m a veterinary surgeon in King’s Lynn. I have a husband Kevin, and 3 children. My daughter, Ellen, has got the bug and joined me in a channel relay in August 2014.I’ve always enjoyed open water and cold water swimming. I completed a solo channel crossing in 2010 which had been my ambition since I was 6 years old.
Forensic Mental Health Nurse. At school I competed in athletics, then had 4 children & sat on the couch. In 2011 I changed, learnt how to swim and have competed in 3 iron distance triathlons. For the past 2 years I have swum open water all through the winter and in 2014 competed in the World Middle Distance Quadrathon Champs coming 4th in age group.

Sarah Gatland, and raised by sharks
Spent most of my childhood in the sea and I’m fascinated by water. I’m a civil servant. Simon my partner likes climbing things. Baxter our dog likes yoga and adventure. Both are my trusted swimming partners/support crew. I love adventure, zombies, my best friend, travel, music, giggling, cooking, family, mojitos, my partner, reading and when people tell me I can’t do something.
Open water swimming is my passion. Having taken the first 2 ( and only 2 – to my knowledge) Army Cadets across the English Channel in 2013 I was hooked. I completed a further 4 man relay in 2014 and have also completed the River Dart 10k as well as a few triathlons. Watching my daughter Kayleigh Adams complete in Tris has also inspired me to take myself out of my comfort zone…My mantra is that ” Limitations are set by the mind, not the body”
Professional triathlon coach & tutor. I live with my boyfriend, Simon, near Leeds. I have been very sporty and I did my first triathlon at college & have continued on and off for nearly 30 years, specialising in long distance events. I have also been a competitive cyclist, and I’m currently in training for the Marathon des Sables April 2015. I have completed 3 one way channel relay swims, & love open water swimming in the sea, a lake or a river.
